hi , the fuel bowl on my carb swivels freely , is this correct or should it be tight . The bolt opposite it which i presume connects it to the carb is as tight as i can get it but still swivels . This is a new carb just fitted before i bought it and i have the old carb and the bowl is screwed solid . Would this have any bearing on the running of the engine :-?

Makes no difference - Just make sure the bowl sits verticle or your float control won't work properly which will effect running....

The float chamber should be fixed firmly in position. Perhaps the screw that fixed the chamber to the carb body is too long. Compare the screw with the one on the old carb.

PSL184 is probably correct in saying that the function of the float chamber will not be affected, but I'd still want to get it fixed properly.

Every chance the special spacer that controls the float bowl angle is missing - take the bolt out and inspect!

If it leaks or weeps then you have a problem... I'm surprised you haven't reported one. It certainly shouldn't be able to be moved easily.

hi , there is defineatly no sign of a leak .Im gonna take the carb off and have a better look , there would appear to be a slight difference on the connection as to what the old carb looks like as in a heavy fibre washer showing between the joint :)

Is it an HS2 carb?
