top trunion
hi all, i just put new bushes on my minor and at the top trunion, where the upright meets the damper arm i noticed that i hadnt got the correct gap between the bush and the mouting bolt, seeing as i checked afterwards. However if i did have the correct gap i believe there would be a lot of play where they join. Is it vital to have the correct fila gauge setting here? I thought if it was to tight then there may be far to much stess on the top trunnion and i might one day have a horrific cornering experience! Thanks in advance. Ben.

That is a bit confusing but you could be looking at the pictures
in the workshop manual which refer to the VERY EARLIEST Minors
before Rubber bushes were fitted??? These early pics show a
specific gap which does NOT apply now since all Minors have the
rubber bushed top trunnion/damper arm assemblies. If you do
it again then fit the polyurethane bushes instead of the rubber type.
