Difference Van - Saloon front wing?

Just bought a van front wing for my saloon, but it seems different. Rather than a one piece pressing, it has a separate front panel around the headlight area. It also is about twice as heavy as the saloon wing. It's in really good condition though. Could it be from an early model??? Anyone???

there's no difference between a van and saloon, or any other, front wing.
you may have one genuine original wing, and one pattern copy. the lighter one could well be the pattern one, made of thinner steel.
either that, or the heavier wing is full of filler...

No filler anywhere, but I might add some to smooth in the panel join on the front otherwise it might look odd.[frame]

Thats a cheap pattern wing, id trial fit it first, you may have to in large the holes where the wing bolts on so you can get some adjustment to get a better fit, get some large washers and then put the bolts in, i always have had to file and mess around with these mouting holes, as for the front a skim of filler and no one really will be the wiser...... i had a pattern wing and a genuine wing and made them both look exactly the same ....
