Would someone with a van help me with the measurement indicated please ( the vertical distance measured between the two rear doors) at the shortest point.

I bet theres a lot of different measurments depending on which vans get measured....
As a ball park figure, try the height of the door + 3/16-1/4" door gap at top and bottom. Shouldn't be far out and its how I work when rebuilding van bodies ie: do it so the doors fit...
I can measure some vans if you want something more precise than that!

Ok Iain thanks, according to my calculations I need to flatten the roof curve to get the 1/4inch gap at the top centre, so some tricky work involved---but I have a plan! If you could measure a couple so as I can be sure, that would be nice.

#Thats interesting, I've just had one in for work that had a bigger gap in the middle than at the edge, ie: the roof was too arched. It wasn't what it was here for so it got left, but the rubber door seal didn't quite reach the inner roof edge below the guttering so it would rain in if the rain was coming in that direction....
I'll measure up a couple tomorrow.

I reckon the gap on my van is 9/16'' the rubber seals it fine but it doesn't look right, the doors at the corners give a 1/4'' gap.

Hi, sorry not been able to get into work for a couple of days, one of the kids has been poorly. But I've just checked my own van which is fairly original ie: the body has never been off, and its a fairly consistent 1/4" gap over the top of the doors. The height as you indicated on your drawing is 39 1/4". I'll look at a couple more when I get chance and if its radically different I'll let you know. Hope that helps.

Thanks Iain, I make mine 39 1/4 from the small recessed step that the bottom of the doors sit in to the bottom of the gutter but have a bigger gap at the top than 1/4inch, although it's 1/4 inch at the top corners. It's something that would be put right if the roof curve was slightly flatter but obviously I want to make sure that is the problem first. Hope family are on the mend.
