Front wheel heat

Post by David53 »

Having just fitted sealed front wheel bearings which seem to be firmer than the original unsealed type my front wheels are getting quite hot after a 45 minute drive in traffic including a fair bit of braking. How hot is normal? I fear the bearings are overheating :-(

Not too hot to touch the hub cap.
Have you tried my earlier test?

Not as yet Mike was waiting to see how things went after a bit of use. Well the hubcaps were hot, not too hot to touch but certainly pretty warm.

Will depend entirely on the amount of braking - so we can't possibly judge it!
