Interior light is not working on my Traveller. I've removed the light fitting and it is OK so the problem is in the wiring. I can locate only the first four or five inches of wiring from the light but cannot trace it further so cannot test it. Any ideas as to where it goes to pick up power, especially any ideas as to where the wire can be found under the bonnet? Thanks.

Firstly does the horn work? If not it may be the fuse that supplies the purple wires.

If the horn and fuse are okay the supply to the courtesy light is purple and the wires to the door switches are purple/white (late cars) or brown/black (early cars) and the wiring/connectors will be found (mostly) in the dash behind the steering wheel.

From the light, there is an earth wire that goes towards the left of the car and is secured to one of the bolts holding the roof together. This is used to complete the "manual on" circuit. The positive feed (if -ve earth, otherwise it's the negative feed for +ve earth) and the wire to the door switch (earth return) run to the right of the car, along the roof join, and then forward in the channel over the door, to drop down the windscreen pillar. One then goes to the fuse box, the other has a bullet connector to split into two, one to each door switch.

The problem is much more likely to be the door switches than the wiring,
pull them out and earth the wire that goes into the back to test.
