You can buy a set of punches you just hit with a hammer from machine mart etc, but have a practice first cant always get them in line, unless you make a little jig and buy the right size, or do what other people have done and get it engraved, may not look original but will be very neat. Part of my job is engraving and I have done a few from MGs to land rovers even trailers! so if you dont fancy the punches try your local trophy shop/engravers. good luck
Matt

Keep the old plate as evidence of true identity, even if it is unreadable. Some people like me get suspicious about shiny new plates, particularly on "convertibles".

N/S Bulkhead Plate - Decoding Please ?
My plate - I have unscrewed it to give it a clean reads Z36055 what does this mean ? then 493921 which I assume is a body number for that type of body ( 2 door saloon ) its off an F reg 2 door so the number reads about right given the total post war Minor production of all types.
