Lovely glossy cover, looked really promising. Then I tried to read it. What an abysmal typeface, small, faint, difficult to read. Horrible white text on red background. Such a shame. I'm not just whinging here, I'm writing constructively to Russ to make some positive ideas. The mag deserves to succeed, and should be a really good read. It's just been let down by the designer.

Just been reading my copy too, shame there are a still a few spelling errors that could easily be picked up just by reading through (like my mum always told me with my homework!). Sometimes it's words being swapped for other similar words, so the spell check doesn't pick it up. Two I've noticed already are where 'Relived his youth' became 'Relieved his youth', and 'Previous vehicles' became 'Pervious vehicles'. Pervious isn't even a word is it?!
It is a nice glossy mag, and a fresh new look, but I agree with the comments about the number of adverts. I was pleased to see how thick a magazine it was, only to find that the thickness is made up by adverts.
Also, the Milka Traveller, wasn't that article in the final edition of Minor Monthly? Why start the new mag off with an old story?
Not so keen on a years subscription still being £30, despite getting half as many mags...

Not a subscriber - yet! but I think we all have to be realistic in this day and age. It was clear that the format and business model of the old Minor Monthly wasn't commercially viable enough to keep it going in its original form so its almost inevitable that there will be more adverts in the new mag than there were before.
I'm sure the editors and publishers will be doing their best to iron out the glitches and get the content balance right. Unlike Minor Matters - which is published by the club, controlled by the club and essentially paid for by the membership, Russ and his team have to pitch a new mag in a very competitive marketplace - it's just a reality that we will have to live with if we want the magazine to continue.
I'm just pleased they have taken a very brave step and managed to save the mag and keep it going

Morris Minor Magazine
http://www.virtualnewsagent.com/brands/ ... azine.html
Subscription on that link is only £19, reduced from the normal £29.70. Which is a bit more palletable!

I am having trouble reading the mag as white text on red and black backgrounds makes it hard on my eyes.

I will be dropping a line to Russ. Not bad mag on the whole.

When Minor Monthy folded I had taken out a full subscription and only ever received one copy! I have never received any reimbursement of my outstanding subscription monies. Neither have I received any notification of re commencement of publication! Where do I stand regarding this new publication? Is anyone else in my position?
Regards ......... Peter

Peter - Contact Russell Harvey directly as this isn't a Club magazine.

4 pound 95 is a lot for a magazine, especially if it is as thin as Minor Monthly was.

Peter, it sounds like an administrative problem. Contact Russ and explain - as you will have gathered, most of us with subscriptions to the old Minor Monthly have started toi receive the new magazine. There was a letter explaining that subscriptions would be transferred.

I think that the point about the subscriptions should be clarified.
On the magazine website 1 magazine is priced at £3.95 and 6 mags at £29.70 however my calculator tells me that 6 x £3.95 = £23.70. The special offer is £19 for 1 years subscription.
Peter Pimlico thinks he has problems - In July took out a £50 two year subscription to Minor Monthly

Mike as discussed on Sunday all subs will be honoured and I advised you that you needed to e mail Blaze and they will process for you.
I think the answer of your Maths was also sorted when you add postage

Subs are £19 for 6 copies not £30
Milka Traveller was due to appear in Minor Monthly issue 198 that was never published I did however send out some PDFs of that magazine but it has not appeared, that's why it is in there, hope that answers you question Chris
