Fitting a Distributor with a Derrington Sliver top?

What distributor clamp do in ned to fit an MM distributor to a derrington Sliver top, as it is very different to the head of my 1950 MM[frame]

I think I need a long bolt to lock the distributor in place or a latter clamp from the later engine?

The clamp system is a cotter pin which fits in the hole. The cotter pin has a cut out the same diameter as the distriibutor shaft. a nut on the end of the cotter tightens it against the distributor.

Length of shank = 1 7/8in + thread. Diameter to fit hole. Cut out to fit dist. shaft.
If making new pinch bolt I would recommend a larger diameter thread, 5/16 unf, to fit 9/16 A/F nut to reduse possibility of stripping or snapping threaded portion

I think I should mention that this pin does not need to be tightened very much, especially if it is being fitted to an aluminum head. Make the nut just snug enough that you cannot rotate the distributor body by hand (two hands). Over-tightening risks damage to that nice head as well as the distributor body.
