Is autoglym best for chrome work? l have a lttle pitted'ness on my bonnet handle and l realise that no amount of elbow grease will fix that, but l was wondering what a good chrome polish would be for all over chrome work? Thanks Joyce

Autosol works well for general cleaning of chrome, very dirty chrome usually responds well to a gentle application of fine wire wool . You can get a fibreglass brush/pencil thing called a speedplate? pencil ,which is very good for removing the grot out of pitted areas. However you clean it give it a good coating of wax polish afterwards.

With Brasso and wire wool and a lot of rubbing you can get rid of the rust stains and just leave the small pitting

My 9 year old daughter likes to clean the chrome bumper with kitchen foil. I just need to remember to buy some before the wife finds there is none left.

Yes indeed always a risk if there isn't enough to cover the Sunday roast
