someone stupidly removed the marks id made on the torsion bars while i was cleaning them!. Just ondered the best way of seting up the splines/vernier palte ect as i dont want to get it wrong and have to do it by trial and error.

The cars just a shell at the moment though and the only way i thought of doing it was to fit them and measure from the trunion but how much will the car drop when its complete?

any other ideas greatfully recived. (and yes i know it was a stupid idea to clean of the marks)

If you have a manual it gives measurements for all conditions, ie: without any tension and with load etc. All taken when the car is on a level surface.

Just behind the rectangular hole in the inner front wing, where the damper lever sits, is an oval hole. With no weight on the torsion bar and the lower suspension arm fitted, measure the distance between the bottom of the oval hole and the centre of the outer hole in the lower arm. This should be 17" + or - 1/4" or 355mm + or - 6mm. Adjust up or down the splines accordingly, it should hopefully get a close enough measurement before touching the vernier if that is necessary for a finer adjustment.

dont put them back on the wrong side, if they have been removed.
