Tick-over adjustment
What is the optimum tick-over speed to adjust a 948 Gold Seal engine to - and how is this achieved without any specialist equipment? Many thanks for any advice? Also, what does the screw with the spring over it do on an SU carb?

Re: Tick-over adjustment
Just fast enough that the charge light doesn't come on.
The screw with a spring is the fast idle adjustment for when the choke is in use.

Usually the red (no)charge light WILL be on at idle if you have a dynamo. As slow as possible is the answer - without the engine stalling when you depress the clutch.
