Eyebrows: Yea or Nay?

Doris' post got me to thinking...

...should Minors have eyebrows?

We haven't had a poll on here for a while, so I thought this would be as good a topic as any. Post your reasoning here, if you will.

I'll make a start:

I'm not convinced about eyebrows, to be honest. Sometimes they look great and set off the chrome on a four-door really well... other times they just look like nasty tacked-on pieces of tin. That's just my opinion of course...

Sometimes they're really nice, and sometimes I just go "ick, no". Rebecca's never going to have them, at least, I say that now :-)

Minerva kind of has eyebrows as the Beezels she came with aren't the standard Moggy ones, they peak up into eyebrows and look quite fetching! :)

Don't think a pedestrian hit by a Minor with these would be too impressed by the lacerations caused over and above the other injuries!

I personally dont like them very much (too girly as I said before but there again there is a similar thing on the Ted`s favorite Mk2 Zephyr`s/Zodiac`s and Consuls and I am not saying it face to face with them) but they are a period addition I suppose and as 57 points out they are nicknamed Pedestrian Cutters :x although if they get that near what damage will the bumper and overiders have done :o to them

I'm with Kevin & 57 Traveller on this. The Minor is cute enough looking anyway. I don't think these additions do anything worthwhile and the peaks do represent an additional risk if you collide with a pedestrian.

I think they are like Marmite, you either love them or hate them!

I had a set on the convertible for a while.

I liked them at first.......but then I kept knocking into them!, I found they were a pain to clean!, I've got flat glass halogens - they just didn't look right!....so binned 'em after 6 months!!

I am considering a set of those bug - eye chrome covers though. 8)
(see London - Brighton report in last issue of Minor Matters - blue Mog with sun-visor)

I hate em! Always have done.

But I defend the right for others to like them and put them on their cars.

Someone who did not know I was into Minors, let alone mag Editor, walked past my Traveller yesterday. I did not let on that it was my car and he commented what an absolute disgrace the Minilites were. But I think they look great, so tough nuts to him!

I wouldn't say modern wheels are a disgrace, but I much prefer the originals. Modern alloy wheels don't do anything for me.

I am having them fitted to Humbug but if they don't look right I will remove them. I was also thinking of (don't shout at me!!) having angel eyes fitted as then I would just melt when I look at her! it is just a thought of course! Humbug is even older than I thought, she is a 1960 with a 1098 engine....can't wait!

Interesting point. It was reckoned that eyebrows on a Riley 1.5
cut the top speed by 5MPH!!!!

Aero dynamic reasons would be the main reason I would not fir them.

Let's just say they're not on my top priority list :P

I'm not sure Hebe's the right colour for them. :)

I like them and Lily will probably be fitted with a pair at some point. And if any stoopid pedestrian gets near Lily and damages her, they deserve what's coming to them (nothing to do with my driving skills obviously!)

no no no no no no, never never never never.. look terrible on a mans moggie.... and thing what they would do to your top speed and 0-60.......

Eye brows look ok, and I appreciate them on other people's vehicles - I don't intend on having them on any of mine unless I also put on a big sun visor, tack on indicators, wing mirrors and large door mounted mirrors, wheel trims, badge bar, double overriders (yip seen that), liberal supplies of reflector tape, yellow numberplate surrounds, side mounted ariel, roof racks, rear luggage rack and paint the, grille, body stripe, guards (wings) a contrasting colour to the body.

I'm not saying any of these are offensive just that a minor can get TOO many acessories!

agree 110%. nice pain and simple that the best way for a minor. I love to see nice wheels but keep the rest standard and loose the overriders.
