Hi everyone, l have been a proud owner now for 5 days

After driving my new minor 1000 for most of the week l am sure it feels like he is almost waking from a very long slumber. The previous owner took wonderful care of him but sadly didnt have much opportunity to drive him around.
So the car arrived on monday night and on tuesday when l took it out l thought it drove very well, however...now it seems to be going like a dream! Sounds fabulous, braking is sharper than it was, new speedo cable being fitted on monday and the fuel gauge has woken up!

Cant wait to have a whole weekend of driving pleasure as Bergerac and l hit the coast!

:-):-)

Hi Ewen, yes that would be great. Tried to join up to the Scottish minors during the week but my internet connection seemed to be having problems. Would love to see what you think of the car too

Looks great - Troon - or Girvan ??? There should be a bar securing the battery - it won't pass MOT unless the battery is 'secure'.

Well - there should be a restraining bar across the front of the battery to hold it down - and 'security' of the battery is MOT able. Unless there is some other restraint I can't see!
Ahh right - Inverkip - I'm not sure I have ever been there! Site of one of the biggest ever money wasting exercises in Scotland - Inverkip Power Station!

Looks very smart and a great day for a drive, there dont seem to be a lot of early 1000 models about these days. I had a very nice clarendon gray 1957 2 door for a couple of years.
I took the MM out for a run around Islandmagee today and was wishing by 5.30 that it had a heater!!
This is what you need to hold the battery in place along with the bols as well. Most local motor factors will do some sort of replacement if you dont want to send for one
