Can anybody help please?
I got a lock up garage for my traveller over winter but when I go to it, it is covered in condensation and I'm wondering if it would be better for me to get a car port on the side of the house. It would just be a roof and fence at the side so would be open at either end.
The garage hasnt got electric and no way to get electric to it and I cant improve ventilation either as its a rented garage.

Given your predicament I would choose a car port at the side of your house for many reasons - you wouldn't be paying rent, it could be better security wise than a remote lock up out of site, you can have electric power by extension lead when you want, you could charge the battery overnight for example, task lighting when you want, fresh air blowing over and through the car so little or no condensation issues, you could always add a swing door arrangement at the end of the car port that faces into the prevailing wind to reduce exposure and/or use a lightweight cover as the roof would take most of the rain.

Its a bit of a no brainer to my mind.

Car ports often have translucent roofs, and it's tempting to use relatively cheap corrugated sheeting. If you do that remember that you'll need to get at the house windows, drains, guttering, barge boards and so on to maintain them. Many clear sheets soon go very brittle, so standing on them will be dangerous, even if you spread the load. At my parents' house, the car port had to be quite high to clear downstairs windows, and quite a lot of snow and rain blew in. You may get away with starting with a roof and then gradually turning it into an integral garage, but the Local Authority Building Inspectors know all the dodges. It may be worth looking what any neighbours have done.

I'd certainly have one again if it was the only way I could get a car under cover - far better than the average lockup.

i was not the first person to give one away on our local free cycle.. we needed it gone so i could get a garage built and they do not sell on ebay and it saved us the money of not having to pay the builder to demolish and dispose of it..
