Forgive me if this is in the wrong place. Just a quick question. I have bought bmc green engine enamel - do I need to use primer first or can I just rub down and paint on top of the original?

If it's the stuff from ESM in a small can, then it seems to go straight on. I have painted my whole engine and gearbox on bare surfaces. Primer probably wouldn't hurt, but that requires more patience
