OK..so I took the opening quarterlight window out..successfully replaced the block in the lower channel and put all new rubbers in, after having performed great magical feats to get the upper hinge part through the rubber seal and screwed back onto the frame. Then I tried to screw the bottom of the hinge to the window. I couldn't get the screwdriver in at an angle that would enable me to do up the screws from the top, the bottom, inside or outside. There has to be a trick to this.....or maybe I'm reassembling things in the wrong order. Any advice would be very welcome!
Thanks
Lesley

hi Lesley. can you open the 1/4 light fully almost 180 degress, i think you may be able to do the screws up then. (these screws are the small ones half way down the 1/4 light). make sure the pivot point at the bottom is cleaned out well and the 1/4 light frame sits down well and moves freely. do up the small screws together not one at a time. tricky one.
