Engine bay floor plate

Hi,
I've discovered a data plate at the front nearside floor of Jethro's engine bay.
It is heavily coated with new paint as the whole car has been resprayed but I can make out the letters NMP at the centre of the plate. Could this be something like "Nuffield Motor Plant" or similar?
Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

Hi Boomlander,
NMP stands for Nuffield Metal Products, it is basicly a prodution identifacation plate giving production No and body type. Ill stand corrected if i'm wrong but i believe these plates were fitted to earlier Moggies as the chassis/bodyshells were produced buy Nuffield for Morris before becoming BMC. Our 54 Series II has one fitted where as my sadly departed 68 Traveller didn't.

I may strip the paint off it and see what the body number is.

Hi my 68 traveller has one of these id plates and the paint is so thick it is ureadable.

The number stamped to the NMP plate should match the number stamped on the little tag pop riveted to the bulkhead on the right of the battery, above the fuel pump.....
