Whilst object the way to look at a Maggie for my wife. the fuel gauge decided to pack up just after filling up. when i pulled the speed out to see if the wires had become disconnected but no so i moved the wires about and the gauge moved to the full position problem solved you'd think. No the needle doesn't move at all. so it either shows empty or full. any ideas
many thanks
Rob

Permanently reading full means the cable going to the sender in the tank has become disconnected.
Permanently reading empty means either the sender is stuck or a sticky gauge.
My thoughts are, the gauge had stuck (which mine does sometimes) and playing with the wire broke the connection.
So unbolt the cable from the sender clean up wire and connector and re bolt up cable... with some added vaseline to prevent water penetration.
