Bad new quaterlight seals!

I just purchased and fitted two new quarterlight seals, the flat strips that lie between the quaterlight itself and the top of the door ... but I can't get it to actually 'seal'... no matter how tight I push down on the quaterlight / frame and do up the nuts underneath water still creeps underneath - it seems the seals are far thinner than the originals - any idea where I can get better quality ones than the 'usual' supplier sells?
Thanks!

Add a wee bit of sealer on each side of the rubber, I usually put a small bead of dum dum to keep the water out.
