I have a beautiful 1960 4 door saloon named "Archie "which has been fully restored.
The problem I have is the draught excluder around the drivers door is coming away each time I get in or out of the car and I dont see how to fix it back so it does not catch me every time I get in.Does anyone have a diagram of how the little metal clips work and how to keep it in place ?Thanks.

I would recommend replacing it all with the easy rubber push on variety. I've done this on both my Lowlight and Traveller and you can hardly notice the difference - and it doesn't fall off! It's available from all the specialists.
The only downside is that, as far as I know, you can only get it in black.

I have also replaced the excluders on my Traveller and Series MM with the push on type, you remove all the clips and push the excluder straight on to the seam. One thing to watch is that the excluder seems to vary in thickness depending on the make.

Yes I suppose the black only type is the answer as I am on the larger size and seem to catch on it every time.It seems such a shame when it has all been replaced with the correct new excluder to put something non origional on the car.The only other answer is to find a 2 door equally as pristine as Archie.

The draught excluder is the only non original part of both my cars but it hardly notices. I really wouldn't worry about it.

If you did want to keep the original, then have you checked that the separate clips are in place - if they were omitted or lost, then the rest of the excluder would keep coming away. When fitted properly (use new clips, fit them to the frame, and then fit the excluder over the top) then it will last for years. Having said that, I too use the soft push-on variety on all the cars.
