Difference between SU H2 and HS2 Carburettor
Can anyone explain the difference between SU H2 and HS2 Carburettor? Is it that the H2 fit to the manifold is vertical and the HS is 'slanted'?
That's strange R2, the damage doesn't look so bad from here!
Re: Difference between SU H2 and HS2 Carburettor
No - both are slanted in the A series application. HS2 has the float bowl mounted on the side of the carb body - the angle can be varied by changing the shaped spacer in the side mount, and the fuel is taken in to the base of the jet assembly through a flexible pipe -which is part of the jet..... It also has a brass tube on the side which takes the fumes away from the engine rocker cover breather.

Think I may have confused with my terminology 'slanted'. I have manifolds with vertical carb mountings (1) and offset (2). I have a feeling that H2 and HS2 are vertical whilst the offset one may be HS4?? (and not a MM 1098).[frame]

the diagonal fixing is for a HS4. The HS2 and H2 both have the same vertical fixing.

i've reported it, but obviously the mods have 'lives' or something
there really should be an option when you 'report' that is 'really serious super important report' that blocks the post until a mod allows it, rather than allows a post until a mods removes it.

Buy up old Minors - 'do them up' in a half-hearted manner - and then flog them to unsuspecting fools on ebay........
