I have recently managed to obtain a spare SU pump for my car and have rebuilt it with new SU spares including points and various other parts and when tested works fine .I intend to carry this in the tool bag wrapped in cotton cloth and in a plastic bag as a spare but hopefully never needed .My question is what protection if any is required to keep the points in their new condition as it could hopefully be a long time in the tool bag .Or do I just leave them as they are and hope they will be ok and not have any oxidation

coule you seal it in a plastic bag with one of those 'silica gel' packets you get in packaging?

best place for the silica crystal pack would be inside the cover.
apparently you can rejuvenate them using an electric oven (gas ovens are more humid)
