Welcome to the forum...... Look for RUST! Make sure it has a NEW MOT - and ask what repairs have been done......

The seller refers to "smoke" twice, so do check the engine -- maybe even do a quick compression test. However, as BMC suggests, the engine is almost irrelevant compared to the potential expense of dealing with rust. Shiny paint can hide massive amounts of filler, and the underside should be checked with extreme care by someone who knows these cars well, particularly for rust in structural sections. It is a lovely looking car, by the way.

Sorry Benwall101

I bought this car for £1750 a few weeks ago,
The engine was smoking quite a lot, and needs rings doing
So may be you've dodged a expensive job lol

I'm happy with it though;-)
