MM fuel tank
Hi all, having trouble getting petrol to reach the carb.Taking off the tank line and putting a short line in a gallon can the pump primes instantly. So I assume the tank pick up is gummed up in some way.The car is a `52 MM.Not run for some time but have had this problem since I acquired the car many years ago.Now trying to get her back on the road.Any suggestions would be very welcomeThanks,John.

Re: MM fuel tank
I had that problem once with a car that had been left in a barn for over twenty years. The fix was messy, smelly and time consuming. I disconnected the fuel line at the tank and worked a stiff piece of wire up into the opening to ream out the hardened, varnish-like mess that was blocking it. Everything was fine after that.

Re: MM fuel tank
You'd best siphon out as much fuel as you can before you begin or you may get a bath
.
Actually it's probably worth removing the tank completely and having it profe$$ionally cleaned.
