Sump gasket
Does anyone know where i can get a rubber sump gasket, for where the crank passes through, as the cork one fitted has leaked badly.

Re: Sump gasket
Well - the crank doesn't pass through......... the cork seals press down on the main bearing caps - through which the crank passes........ 1275 Spridgets used a rubber seal here - Items 166 and 167 http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewP ... dexID=1375

Re: Sump gasket
Thankyou, do you know if the main sump gaskets are the same for a 1098 as 1275?

Re: Sump gasket
I am pretty sure that the 1275 sump to cap seals are longer than the 948? Cork can be cut, but the rubber ones have a shaped end. Don't think you can use the 1275 on a 948 engine?

Folks do use them - but yes they need to be cut down. But really - cork seals correctly installed are perfectly ok.
