We have made quite a few custom carpet sets for our Minors in the past. The hard bit is the edging but if you can use standard carpet for the foot areas and tuck the trans tunnel carpet under these then it all looks neat.

We used to buy our carpet from a trimmers up in Yorkshire, they must exist in the Midlands.

Well done charlie, binding by hand! that's some work, I used to do trimming, the only trouble with your carpet is that it will rot quicker than Auto Carpet as it's not backed with the right stuff so will absorb moisture. But that said still good work.

where would i get auto carpet from.. I did not know this was a difference.. but thinking about it

However I fear a light coloured carpet will suffer more from oil stains etc than damp so will be replaced on those grounds rather than rot, and the carpet was an off cut so was only £10

Hi charlie,

Any car trimmers near you should stock it, or you can try Woolies: woolies-trim.co.uk They also sell proper glue and tools.
Wilton carpet is the best IMO as when folded the pile doesn't separate showing the backing, cheap carpet does.
