what size big ends have I got?

Post by grovesa »

Hi,
I have removed my big end or con rod bearings form my 803.
I cannot find any size markings on them, I can only find a code number G2314M and what looks like an overlapped PV in a circle.
Can anyone tell me what size these ones are? Just to give me a baseline

thanks

Hello Grovesa,

oversize shells would be stamped with the oversize, e.g. 010 for 10 thou oversize, so it looks as if yours are standard.

Your 'PV' will actually be a 'VP' = Vandervell Products...... And yes no marks = standard size. Note the bigends for the 803 are NOT the same as for the 948/1098 engine.

Ah- that would be why i couldnt find them then!

Thanks. I know they are different, and much more expensive for the 803
