Morris Side valve pistons.

Hi guys,
I'm after some information on some morris side valve pistons I found in my grandads garage.
The information I'm after is what morris they fit along with any other helpful information. They look to have never been used and I assume they are originals as they have a bottom ring which I noticed the newer ones from morris dealers don't seem to have. Also my assumption on them being originals or at least early, is that the dealer sticker has a telegram address, this may mean nothing but it shows age.

The information on the box is as such.
Type - MORRIS 11.9 H.P 1936/48
Bore - 69.5m/m
Size - +020

Like I said, any information would be helpful and wonder if the age and condition have any bearing on price should I come to sell them. I can send or put up pics if anyone needs to see them to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks,

Hi there,

Can't offer a lot of help, other than to suggest that you contact the Morris Register, which is a club devoted to Morrises of pre-war design.

At a guess, from your description they sound like pistons for a Morris 12, although the dates on the label don't tally exactly with its production.

Some side valve pistons have a lower ring, some do not. It probably depends on the make of piston.

Thanks for your help. I've e-mailed morris register but have had nothing back from them, but talking with my grandad he thinks they are for a morris 12 - 4, which doesn't mean alot to me but is along the right lines as suggested.

They will be on e-bay from Sunday 29th Jan along with some morris wing mirros, an old Mercedes front grill, a rolls royce hub cap and a big batch of old style windscreen wipers, so if you know anybody who is interested in these things please point them in the right direction and spread the word.

Thank you for the help again.
