I am sorting out my doors on my restoration - but am wondering about the bottom area of the rear window frame strut... I have seen many cars with a sort of small rubber seal that sits between the strut and the car door - but I haven't got any on my car - are they an actual 'part' or do people just make 'em?

Yes, those seals should be present- and they are available check ESM? bull Motif or your favourite supplier.

No, that one is for the quarter light. There is a short section of edge seal that should be (was originally from the factory) fitted in that gap, but I can't see it on any of the usual suppliers websites.

Yes, it is the smaller one I'm after... I'll have to make some me thinks!

It was a blue car Irmscher... now red... mostly...

I think this is the seal in question and I don't think they are available as I asked the same question a few years back. They should be easy to make from 1mm rubber or an offcut from the seal from the door to the sill which has a similar profile and could be cut back. I'll have a look at doing it over the weekend. I repaired the one in the photo with silicon sealer at the time.

Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen (or perhaps just not noticed) a Minor with a seal in that part of the door before, perhaps an owner modification to keep water out of the door (and thus keep rust at bay!)

If so, a good idea, if it works.
