Noisy gearlever

The gear lever on my 948cc has started making a very loud buzzing noise when in 3rd gear.
This will stop if the lever is pressed down, so I'm guessing it's caused by wear in the parts just below the lever.
Could do with advice on which parts need replacing...nylon bush, spring & whatever else.
thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
Most likley it will be wear, you need part 131 from this site

From what I gather its an easy cheap fix.

Chris
I think your diagnosis is correct, if the noise goes a way with slight pressure on the lever.
Unless you have replaced any of the parts recently ( ? ) .....usually they will have all worn evenly, hence the slack / buzzing/vibrating.Nylon cup worn, spring weak, etc , etc.
The parts are not expensive, some of the suppliers even do an "anti rattle kit " complete, which won't cost an arm and leg.
By all means replace one part at a time, if you wish, but for me it's a no brainer.Replace the lot in one hit and forget.
My six pennth for what it's worth.
