fuel guage.
Hi all, the fuel guage on the pickup has ceased to function, initially it would go to half full of it`s own accord, but now seems to have given up the ghost. have earthed the sender wire to earth and still no needle movement .have carried out continuity check on the sender wire and it`s ok. The voltage stabiliser was the next point of checking, i have 13+volts coming in on the twin green wires with the ignition on, don`t know where the single green one on theadjacent terminal goes to, the wire from the vs to the guage also is ok. but i don`t know what voltage if any, should be coming out on that terminal going to the guage. my gut feeling is the guage has had it... any info on voltages which go into and out of the vs would be appreciated. Rob.
Re: fuel guage.
GAUge I think...... You can't measure the output satisfactorily because it's a vibrating on/off contact that simulates ~ 10- v output. A voltmeter will bounce up and down - if it's not doing that, then I guess the VS is faulty. Try the gauge on full 13 volts to see if it works - it will of course read high - but at least you will know it's working!

Re: fuel guage.
I had the same problem with my fuel gauge. I connected it to the 12V side of the v/s and it worked perfectly.
