Hi Guys
Me again - the owner and myself are still trying to get to the bottom of the 5th gear jumping out of gear. The Abarth box has been fully checked over and found to be fine (although the reverse gear teeth are worn) and we can't find the parts.
Of you who have the Twin cam in your moggies - apart from Guy Croft, does anyone know of anyone I can speak to urgently. There is a thought that this could be a linkage problem - any experiences of this.
I'm told there is a spring in the enclosed linkage that could be responsible for this 5th gear jumping out.
Two engineers are of the opinion that the gear mounting to the car and the ensuing vibration caused is the cause?
Help - is anyone prepared to call me if your a specialist or can you reccomend a contact. Tel: 0788 769 0184 or email: bavaria@ancasta.co.uk
Thanks
Alastair

Just had a thought.
If 5th gear only is affected, then there could possibly be a fault with the reverse lock-out mechanism ( hence the badly worn reverse gear).
This may have come loose/broken and blocks the gearlevers path into the fifth gear slot??
Cheers
