Hi I'm Emma
My Dad and I have started on a project to restore this Minor saloon to be my first car! We've owned the car for a long time and it has been in regualar use until recently - despite appearances. I have already chosen the colour - yellow :) and I can't wait until it's finished! However as you can see there's a lot to do and we've only just started...[frame]Image[/frame]

The car has never had any panels replaced before so attention is required in all the usual areas.[frame]Image[/frame]

Hi Emma
good luck with the car !
I am, like your dad, doing up a Morris for my daughter and I hope your project goes well.

Hi Emma and welcome.
I am also restoring a Minor, my sister's old car for one of her twin daughters who are sixteen at present so I have another year to finish it.

Thanks for the support! Sorry it's been a while but there has been a little progress.
First job was to remove the sill rails and kick plates. Luckily this hasn't revealed too many horrors as dad had regularly waxoyled such areas.[frame]Image[/frame]

Next job was to remove the seats and interior trim. Under the carpets we found some newspaper dated April 1977! Dad thinks that was the last time the car was cleaned [frame]Image[/frame]

The Morris has got through 10 or 12 MOTs since dad was first warned about rust in the centre crossmember. The regular waxoyling and a couple of welded repairs have sufficed up to now but this time a proper lasting job is required so replacement of the whole crossmember is the only sensible solution.[frame]Image[/frame]

great progress on the car. Love it when you find old newspapers, So what were the headlines back in the late 70's?

Welcome! That really looks like an honest, well maintained little Moggie, one which should be straightforward to freshen up. Its lovely to see one that has been in the same family for a long time.

Good luck with it, nice to see a 4-door being done.
