Just joined so Hi to all.
My first car in 1972 was a 1966 Morris 1000 and i am now looking for a Traveller in good condition.Any advice on price would be welcomed.I'm more bothered about good bodywork and a sound chassis than the mechanical side as i will be removing all running gear and rebuilding.
I'm hoping to travel Europe next year for 4/5 months in the summer. As my MGA is still in the rebuild stage and my replica RV8 is just to small in the boot for tents and every thing that you need so i think the traveller will be just right for my proposed little jaunt.
Look forward to you thoughts.

hi and welcome, seen a few on flea bay . but most of them always seem to require a load of welding, good luck with your search and hope you find something suited to your needs, mick

The Traveller advertised on this forum in Bristol is certainly worth considering at that price. IMHO.
Regards .............. Peter ..................... I have no connection with the vendor.

Welcome to the forum. MG owners especially welcome, there are a few of us. Good luck with the search. Don't leave it too long. You need to do a good few miles after rebuilding to prove the reliability before embarking on a major trip, I would think.

Thank you for your welcome.
I'm a bit confused as to the wide difference in prices on what would appear to be same condition moggies. As to the one on this forum it is a bit to far to travel for a look-see.
This is one I'm going to look at
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C269377
The guy said the price of £4750 is wrong and should be £4000.
Has anyone any idea what color it is?
I will find one and then will most likely get right up your wicks asking for advice

It's Bedouin, with a tobacco leaf interior - a pretty rare colour so you don't see many about.
As to the wide price differences, traders tend to be more expensive than private sellers and some private sellers underprice their vehicles whilst others are very optimistic. Make sure that you throughly inspect any potential purchase and if you're not sure what to look out for take someone with you is familiar with Minors. There's some useful advice for buyers here;

Hi Again Thanks for your replies.
Thought i had better bring you up to date so far. My search for a traveller came to an abrupt halt as i was offered a very nice 1958 MGA Coupe in need off a total rebuild. As I'm a sucker for MGs i couldn't resist

This will be my 4th rebuild of an MGA.
My first when i was in my teens an have to say very amateurish but a good learning curve.
I would just like to say i visit this site every day now and enjoy reading all the posts so thank you for adding to my days enjoyment.
