I'm messing with Mildred, my new-to-me moggy, and I live over here in the Colonies where it's hard to find another to look at. My question has to do with the bonnet and the lower edges of same. It's just the bare edge of the steel, not rolled over, no trim piece, etc. Is this as it should be?

that is correct the sides are not rolled over and there is no trim piece. the front is turned at 90 degrees and the back is.. i can not recall but i have a feeling it is folded back on itself.. wait for the correction

The front leading edge is rolled over, to give support and strength to the front of the bonnet (hood) to stop it flexing when raised. the two edges following the wing tops are at 45 degrees, the edges at the bulkhead (fire wall) and windscreen panel are straight edged, some bonnets (hoods) i've noticed have a slight rolled edge to the windscreen pannel, these i think are patterns. If you look carefully at the front page of the website you'll see a yellow one with bonnet (hood) up look carefully at the far side of the Bonnet (hood) you can just make it out.

well whats 45 degrees anyway it's half of 90

Some people have taken thin steel stock and brazed it around the three leading edges of the bonnet; this gives it a greater amount of stiffness so it doesn't wobble when you open it. I have yet to do this, but I may.
