gearbox oil
Can anyone tell me the correct oil to use for my gearbox, its a 1098 1968 saloon, i know its engine oil and have heard of people using 15w40 is this okay? Thanks loads, Ben.

The generally accepted oil for your gearbox is 20-50. I have spoken
to an expert who rebuilds these gearboxes and he recommends
CASTROL GTX 15-40 as the ideal as he considers that 20-50
takes the edge off of the slickness of the gearchange. Despite that
most people use 20-50. You do NOT have to change it as often as
the engine oil.
