Reading up on Morris Minor History I learnt that a Mr Jack Daniels worked on developing the torsion bar suspension for the Tortoise armoured vehicle, one of these vehicles is preserved at the Tank Museum in Bovington Dorset. After the project Jack Daniels was placed on Alec Issigonis's team to develope the Mosqueto car, they decided on torsion bar suspension as Jack had done so much work on development and testing them on the Tortoise project. As we all know, the Mosquito was widened by three inches to give the world the Morris Minor. I took this picture of the Tortoise today during my visit to the tank Museum.
