Indicator additional Buzzer fitting

Post by C6Dave »

I didn't want to hijack this thread: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=41986

But have a question that relates to it. My car is wired negative earth and has a 68 wiring loom and a steering column with a lock and indicator switch mounted to it.

Flasher unit is in the engine bay and moving it inside the car means extending the wiring loom which I would rather not do so...

I bought an additional buzzer to fit inside the cabin so I can hear the flashers working (can't ATM)

It's a simple gizmo with a red (positive) and black (negative) wire coming from the unit that will self stick under the dash, but how to wire it in and where please?
Our other car is a 2009 Citroen C6 3.0 HDi a 'future classic' and far rarer than a Morris Minor!!

The 'moggie' has been replaced with another 'classic' a 1953 Citroen Traction Avant 11BL

I fitted buzzers to my MGB but got fed up with the annoying beep and fitted an extra warning lamp on the dash. Just wire the red to the light green wire that goes from your flasher unit to the stalk warning lamp and then wire the black to earth.

Is the buzzer polarity sensitive? Or will it buzz either way round? If so - just connect between the two flasher circuits (green /white and green/red) and it will buzz whenever they are used. If polarity sensitive - then connect it to the warning light (light green) and earth.
