Hi,
The MOT man as finally done the decent thing and passed Molly! Hurrah!

now I am planning on taking her down to Donnington (from West Lothian) Now seeing as she has lain dormant for the best part of a year, what is the advice on checks / remidial work and what is the consensus on spares I should bring. I'm planning an oil change and valve clearance check. The timing was done by the MOT place (long story but a big improvement) and all the brakes are new.

any ideas?

thanks

Rupert

set of points, condenser, fan belt, a roll of elephant tape for
split hoses, emery cloth in case the fuel pump points need cleaning,
set of spanners plus a good adjustable one for the odd sizes and
screwdrivers. I have never had trouble but many people suffer from
duff ignition coils so it is worth carrying a replacement in the boot.

Try self amalgamating tap from halfauds.... when it heats up the tarry stuff in it melts and makes a watertight seal

If you are a bit tight on space the 2 litre plastic mineral water bottles fit in the spare wheel area square shaped ones are best, remember there is also useful storage next to the battery unless you have a massive one, and my 2 favorite spares when going on a long run, a clutch return spring and a throttle return spring just fit the new ones and keep the old ones as the spares.
Rupert if I remember you have one of the rare genuine Highway Yellow cars, good luck and happy rallying, hope to see you there but I will only be there on the sunday
