Minor / A40 engine front plate

Hi there. Got a problem with engine front plate spec for my Morris Minor.
I recently bought an 1100 engine out of an Austin A40 to replace my Travellers 1275 (and store it until further use in an other Minor).
Now the seller asked me if he could keep the 1100 engine front plate and give me one out of a Midget engine instead. Obviously the engine mountings for the rubber mounts are different. Didn“t know that before...
The question is now: which engine plate fits directly to the engine mounts in the Travellers engine bay? Midget or A40 - or none of them and I need to dismantle the 1275 and take that one? I would be very grateful for your help and advice!
Cheers

Midget one should be a perfect fit and I think the A40 is also the same...

I have just fitted a midget engine with a midget front plate, it all went in fine and connected up without any problems so i'm pretty sure the mounts are right.

They should be the same unless it's a later one with a chain tensioner. Even so, i don't think a chain tensioner was ever fitted to the midget, minor or A40. A+ engines and Mini's only, me thinks.

Perhaps your friend is referring to the Timing cover. The Midget one has a breather pipe built into it.

The front plates are ALL the same - the tensioner makes no difference - it uses existing screw holes........
