Can you tell me -after MM1000 petrol pump diaphragm repair , Has some chemical - glue to paste around the pump for seal it ? when we set gasket have some chemical - glue ,to paste it ?

The workshop manual states in bold type: No jointing compound may be used on the diaphragm.
Sandun, I would highly recommend that you acquire a copy of the BMC workshop Manual (AKD530). It will answer a great many questions and help you enormously in maintaining your car.

I would go for a copy of the genuine workshop manual such as this on e-bay -

which does give a bit more detail on the step by step process of doing most repairs, checks and maintenance of your car. They are both a great investment and well worth the money.

Hi Sandun,
Not sure what you mean by this? If you have replaced the gasket at the top of the float chamber and tightened the screws down properly, it should not leak and will not need any additional paste glue or varnish. If the fuel is still leaking from this joint, it probably points to a problem with the float itself which could be damaged. If so, you'll need a replacement float.

you dont need any sealant. If it leaks retightening the screws round the body and it should be ok especially with new gaskets.

If the float does not shut off petrol will flow out of the top of the float chamber no matter how good the gasket is.....

This thread refers to the fuel pump not the carburretter.

Sorry Sandun for taking that thread back to your carb. - good job Neil is on the ball!
As far as I know, there is still no glue to be used when refurbishing an SU fuel pump.
