I've just finished descaling and painting another radiator in readyness to fit, but have noticed this one has only one row of channels running top to bottom, rather than two that the present one has. Who has what out there!

From what I can tell on both mine Les there are two rows.
Possibly depends on where they were re-cored though.
Don't know if I'm glad I looked now - saloon radiator appears to have a slight leak.

Should be no problem as the std radiator is heaps enough for the minor

sorry les didnt mean you have a cheap one or any thing like that,
just that manufacturs and reconditioners are all ways trying to cut corners

No offence taken Brix, You may well be right, it came with a front panel I bought a while back and until now I just put it aside. It has the makers name on it, Serek ? I was under the impression that they were reputable people, but as you suggest all want to save on costs.

the tubes could be a larger bore, rather then having 2 narrow ones. almost as efficient

Unfortunatly not. May rig up a temp gauge until I know how it performs. Shame really as the beauty of the minor is the lack of any form of worry caused by gauges etc!

Is it Serck Les? If so they are/were a massive, Birmingham based, manufacturer of heat exchange equipment.

Yes 57, Serck, my mistake.
Well I've now fitted it, looks like I'll be reconditioning the original though, two rows are obviously more efficient. It will have a fair old run to the National so any shortcomings should be highlighted.
