Which Tyres?

Apologies if this has been asked many times before, but I need to replace the original tyres on an old Minor and would like to ask advice and opinions on the better tyres currently available.

The car has some mild tuning but the current rims are standard for a 61 car, so ideas on the currently available tyres and sizes that will fit please?

Also perhaps recommendations for improved tyre / wheel combinations that would not look out of place for an original uprated 1961 car?

people generally use 145/14's or 155/14s (but the 145s are wider than the tires origonally fitted to the wide van wheels!)

145 radials will give about the best handling you can get on standard rims.
Various brands are available but the best value are probably Firestones sold from Minor centres eg. (Bull Motif 01386 831755)
