What nut and bolt???

Post by Arthurdaily »

Whilst the weather is bad I have started 'inside' jobs on my renovation project - At present I'm taking apart the front grill and associated bits to weld up the various holes and respray - so will need to order new bolts etc...

My question is what size nut / bolts do I order for fixing the actual front grill panel to the top panel (the bit with the bonnet catch mechanism on it) they are all rusted up and will have to be cut off, so can't even work out the nut size by the spanner that fits 'em as they are rusted and rounded.

A link to a site would be good! Thanks. :D

i'm not quite sure what you mean, as the front panel joins to the 'top panel' only by the 'top chrome' strip. that chrome strip has studs on the back of it, which take nuts to sandwich the two panels together.

originally they were 2BA thread, but repro top chromes take M5 metric nuts.

if that's not what you're on about, post a picture or something!
