Minor Minor '66 doors?

Post by generalbelgrano »

Hi,

I am new to the Minor scene and am doing up a 66 minor for my fathers birthday. I am a VW man and have restored a number of these and am looking forward to working on it. However to cut a long story short i am looking for a drivers door for a 66 minor. The bottom part is rusted away.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Regards

David

4 door or 2 door? they are different, and is there any distance you are willing to travel, and where are you?

You can use pretty much any door from a 2 door saloon, and it is the same size as a traveller door too althought the traveller has a stainless door top.
Alternatively you can get a repair panel for tyhe bottom of the door which will allow you to cut out the rotten metal and join in the new piece of door skin (the end result depends on the level of skill, so not always a good idea)

If it's a 2-Door it's also possible to get a new doorskin - much more expensive than the lower door repair, but far less danger of warping the doorskin due to heat build-up.
