Is this a minor engine?

Just been offered an engine that had supposedly come out of a minor travellor. Only problem is that it is a black colour. i am now confused I thought all engines were either green or gold (gold seal). It looks as it has always been black. Its engine number starts with 10v/189e. It has a morris sticker on it. Is it a minor engine or something else?

my engine is black. i painted it!
an engine number starting 10V suggests it is a 1098 low compression engine, most commonly found in a minor van or pickup originially.

Some late cars from Alderly Park did end up with black engines, presumably just using up whatever was to hand as production ran down.

How much is it offered for? For the price of a 20 metre network cable. it comes from my brother-in-law who said he thought it came from a travellor. he was going to put it into an A30 that he is restoring. I do a little bit of the computing thingy so I can get a cable for about a £5. He has kept the dynamo, manifolds and starter motor. I just want to have a winter project to prepare for a spring refit.

All of the Austin Minor engines were painted black.

Just found out that it came out of a 'K' reg travellor.
It therefore could be one of the Austin engines although it has a Morris sticker on it.
It is now sitting on the floor of my garage having been transported from Yorkshire whilst I was away over part of the weekend.
Have paid for it by making up the netwrok cable so I am a happy bunny.
All ready for spending those winter nights doing a little stripping and checking.
Will probably paint it green after rebiuld.
Thanks for all the replies.
