Hello.

I have a JLH disc conversion on my car. It's been on since I bought the car so I'm not sure what exact model the calipers are.

To my eyes they look like Mk3 Escort calipers but there are no FoMoCo markings, would anybody be able to confirm this please?

The retaining spring is missing from the nearside so I need to get hold of a new one - thus the need for an accurate identification.

I've posted this on the other forum - it seems that there are three differing styles of MK3 Escort caliper. Always the way isn't it?...

Similar looking to the ones on my mk4.

There are three sizes - to suit the three different types of brakes escorts had.
Non-vented ones fitted to smaller engined and base model cars. Assumedly what you have there.
Vented ones fitted to bigger engine cars, XR3s and (in mk4 form at least, some 1400s, 1600s & estates)
RS ones. The RSTurbo uses bigger diameter vented discs than that usual vented variety above, one assumes they require a different caliper.

Should be easy to discern which are which by size alone - obviously the smallest will be what you have fitted.
Order up a set for a poverty model 1100/1300 'Popular' or something similar and they'll do the job.
All of the above is on the assumption they are Escort brakes and not Sierra, Fesy mk2 or some other old random Ford!
