Convertible Window Frames
My lovely convertible MM - Lily - is being resprayed over the winter. My question is - her window frames are finished in chrome and I wondered whether they are actually original? I would have thought that they would be sprayed metal the same as the rest of her body? Having looked around, there seem to be plenty of examples of both chrome and painted frames, but I would like to find out what she would have been originally. She is an original convertible from 1966.

..... and they are prone to chip very easily when painted.

...and thank you asl642 - so they look good and are practical too. What more could a car ask for?!
Re: Convertible Window Frames
To be pedantic they are stainless steel. Chrome was only used on very early MM's

Re: Convertible Window Frames
And the stainless ones only ever came on a traveller not the 2 door!
Originally your convertible would have had painted door tops and rear frames but as said they are nicer and dont chip or rust.
