Morris Minor Owners Club

Greetings from Canada.
My 1950 Morris Minor Tourer has only one prior owner. He finally agreed to sell it to me in 2008. The car was customized and modified as a hobby project after serving for five years as his only car 1950-1955. The work had all been completed by 1958 and only normal maintenance was done from then until 2008. I have had the paint freshened, added new radial tires and rebuilt the engine (twice, but that's another story). Here's a link to a Picasa album:

A lovely car with the right amount of mild customisation!

A lovely selection of pictures of this iconic car. I understand the "low light" models are illegal on American roads, is this not so in Canada?

The lowlight car was legal in Canada but not the US which was the real target market at the time. This car started life as a 1950 high light but the owner bought a lowlight grill at a salvage yard to customize the appearance. The lights work as signals.

That's very handsome, and an excellent solution to the headlight problem!

Those who have troubled to look at the photo album https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir? ... feat=email may recall that I commented on oil leaks. I am happy to report that the leak turned out to be at the special side cover plate that is required with an Alta Head. It has been fitted with a much better gasket and is staying dry. I have begun now to clean up the mess and to make all the little adjustments to get the engine really "sweet". It's a bit late in the season to be using the Minor but we may yet have a few good days before the snow flies.
